Mission & Vision Statement

 

The mission of the Chesapeake Civic Chorus is to foster and develop the art of choral music for the community. It is comprised of more than 40 members who reside in the Hampton Roads area. It is the vision of the Chorus to continue to grow and become the premier choral group in Chesapeake.

Strategic Goals

​

• Inspire community appreciation of choral music through masterful performances, a dedication to artistic excellence, and increase music educational;

• Improve artistic professionalism, foster an enjoyable and supportive environment for members to display their vocal talents.

• Establish an open environment for members to feel welcomed and encouraged to participate;

• Enhance individual member participation with additional activities such as stage crew, board member, featured solos, etc;

• Increase educational opportunities and commitment to choral vocal education through music scholarships for those who seek higher education;

• Present and host master classes to share with Chesapeake Civic Chorus members and other community choirs;

• Solicit continuing support and participation from the business community in anticipation of a 10% growth per year;

• Investigate additional educational outreach opportunities to improve exposure of choral music to younger audiences;

• Create invitations to all who wish to audition and join the chorus.
